The Australian Government is investing $220 million over two years towards improving accessible, safe, and high-quality care. And they’ve just announced a new grant program that will make that goal a reality. Eligible providers can receive a one-off grant ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 to invest in innovative technologies, top-notch training, and other initiatives that will enhance care standards across the board. With this boost from the government, general practices can now take their services to new heights, providing even better care for all patients. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to advance your practice and take patient care to the next level.
General practices (see definition below); and ACCHOs that deliver general practice services and are not owned or operated by a state, territory or local government agency or body.
*Please refer to the RACGP fact sheet to assist in determining whether a health service meets the definition of a general practice.
How much funding is available under the program?
A one-off grant between $25,000 and $50,000 will be available to each participating general practice and eligible ACCHO.
A general practice and ACCHO’s grant allocation is based on their:
- Accreditation status, against the RACGP Standards for General Practices; and
- Practice size, as determined by the Department of Health and Aged Care’s (the Department) Medicare GPFTE 2021-22 financial year (FY)data.
How to claim
Organisations wishing to participate will need to complete the grant agreement form and send back to their PHN (for general practices) or NACCHO (for ACCHOs), by 15 June 2023.
